Amy Dettmer
Amy Gaskill Dettmer joined The Gaskill Group as the Marketing and Client Appreciation Events Director in December, 2013 and has since joining Beth as a licensed agent working with both buyers and sellers. She brings with her a wealth of experience working for the Dallas Cowboys Organization as their Players, Cheerleaders and Dancers Public Relations and Events Coordinator, March of Dimes Community Director for the Annual Dallas March for Babies Fundraiser Event and most recently, MarineMax International where she oversaw 7 regional office’s events and marketing while also coordinating the annual Dallas and Houston Boat Shows. Her level of success, at such a young age, has caught the attention of many, winning her honors to be nominated among "30 under 30" of upcoming professionals to watch. We are honored that Amy has joined the family business and created second to none marketing, spectacular events and unforgettable listings for our clients. Her heart for this business and our people shines in everything she touches.
Get to know Amy:
Go-to morning pick me up: A Caramel Macchiato on ice at 151 Coffee OR my favorite Insane Cinnamon Orange tea from Tea Chemist. I also love to make my own lattes and foam creations using Torani flavored syrups. My family laughs at how many products it takes to make my perfect latte!
Go-to Texas get-away spot: We love visiting Granbury, TX. From the shops, plays, lake activity, amazing food and antique stores, there is always so much to do to enjoy for everyone. We have made many mini getaway memories here. We also may sneak in viewing some waterfront homes and dreaming as a family. For a closer Getaway, we love Grapevine Texas main street, especially with the kiddos. It’s the Christmas Capital of Texas and has earned that name- what a special place that makes you feel you’re right in the middle of a lifetime movie!
Go-to room when you want to relax: My back patio watching the sunset and eating pizza, roasting marshmallows by the fire pit or catching up in the jacuzzi. Being outside and with the people I love fills my cup. Did you know we get to live right next to Beth and Jack? We have a walking trail and gate between our homes and have been found running next door even at midnight to print a contract or be on a call together.
Go-to room when you tour a new home: I always get most excited over two places when showing: the Owner’s Suite and the backyard retreat. 2 places that an owner will relax and enjoy time with family and relaxation. Whether it’s a bubble bath for you or your kids in the owner’s suite bath or making memories in the backyard, that is where I see buyer’s faces light up during a showing!
Go-to store for home furnishings/decor: Home Goods of Course. Many of you would recognize many of our staging items including pillows, paintings, bookshelf décor, bedding that we have collected from Home Goods. If only the check out lines could be shorter! We love to get our inspiration from everywhere but have several go to furniture and décor places to turn those inspiration photos into a reality for a great price! Did you know we also make a lot of our staging items including many of the florals we use to decorate your homes with? Most of the florals we use are from Canton or our favorite store near Magnolia in Waco.
Go-to streaming service: Netflix and on my own account! Our family has very different movie preferences so when we all get together it’s definitely a feat to find the perfect movie. We typically settle on a great Romantic or Action Comedy that makes us all laugh.
Go-to local eatery: Did you know Highland Village Shops just got a brand new Cheesecake Factory, I am not sure if I love the food there or just that it gets to end with cheesecake! I also love Rustico for the perfect date night and of course Marty B’s for the family.
In The Gaskill Group I'm known as: I am known as the detailed perfectionist. I have lists for my lists. I do not like for anything to slip through the cracks and often wake up dreaming about the next day’s events making sure each detail is ready. I blame it on my event planning background where I threw huge events and parties daily for companies like the Dallas Cowboys, March of Dimes and MarineMax Yachts. This is also why I have such a passion for our Gaskill Group events to bring everyone together, honor them and spoil them a bit. If throwing events were a love language, that would be at the top for me.
