Resting Grinch Face!
As decorations go up, one house in my city becomes a beacon of joy. Covered from rooftop to walkway in lights, its glow can be seen from blocks away. Families drive past, children’s faces pressed to frosty car windows, as onlookers take it all in. It is not just a house, it’s an invitation to stop, to wonder!
I often think how one family’s decision to shine brightly turns strangers into friends as they gather, pointing out their favorite details. That home doesn’t keep its light to itself, it shares it freely, and in doing so, it multiplies the joy of the season. It reminds me that the simplest act of shining, when done openly, can become a gift.
What if our lives were like that house? What if the way we spoke, and the way we lived was so filled with kindness that others couldn’t help but stop and notice? In this season of light, may we each dare to glow a little brighter, becoming a warm invitation for others to feel joy, belonging, and hope. For just as that house lights up the neighborhood, so too can our lives illuminate the world around us.
Merry Christmas,
